Lawrence Kaplan
Lawrence Kaplan is interim President and CEO of Omneon, Inc. Prior to this, Larry was Executive Chair. As a co-founder, Larry served as President and CEO until June 2003.
Mr. Kaplan brings substantial experience in television and computer networking technologies. His tenure in these businesses includes strong relationships with computer network, satellite, television and media companies worldwide that have integrated sophisticated digital media networks.
Prior to co-founding Omneon in 1998, Mr. Kaplan was senior vice president at Sony Electronics with overall responsibility for Sony Broadcast in the US. Sony Broadcast includes all of the company's professional audio, video and data systems product lines. His organization also included the Sony systems integration and software development operations that designed and built several major television facilities including DirecTV in Colorado and AskyB in Arizona. Prior to joining Sony in 1995, Mr. Kaplan had overall responsibility for both the computer graphic and television operations at Tektronix-including the color printer division (acquired by Xerox) and the Grass Valley Group. These businesses today generate more than $1 billion in revenue. Mr. Kaplan has an MBA from Rutgers University and a BSEE from the University of Wisconsin. |
Donald Craig
Donald Craig is a co-founder and CTO of Omneon, Inc., where he oversees the product architecture. Mr. Craig is a television industry veteran, who has held technical positions at Sony, Tektronix, Central Dynamics, Ampex, and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. At Tektronix, as Engineering Fellow, his engineering teams received an Emmy® award in 1988 for the VM-700 video measurement set, and in 1996 for the Profile video server. He is regarded as one of the leading video server and networking architects in the television industry.

Laura Perrone
Perrone was appointed Vice President Finance and CFO for Omneon, Inc. in September 2003. Perrone brings over twenty years of senior financial management experience in high technology companies to Omneon.
Prior to Omneon, Perrone held CFO appointments at Icarian, a leading workforce management software and service provider (acquired by Workstream, Inc.) and Rendition, a developer of high-performance graphical processors (acquired by Micron Technology, Inc.). Prior to Rendition, Perrone was Vice President, Controller of Andor International, Ltd., a developer of IBM compatible peripheral products, Corporate Controller of ELXSI, the merger of publicly held Trilogy, Ltd and ELXSI, a scientific computer systems company and held managerial positions with Pitney Bowes/Dictaphone Corporation. Perrone holds a B. S. in Economics from the University of San Francisco. |
Daniel Marshall
Daniel Marshall, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales is an entrepreneur in his own right and comes to Omneon from StorageWay, a recognized leader in the storage service provider market where he was the co-founder and vice president of sales. He now runs Omneon's worldwide sales operations, bringing extensive experience to the sales, service and distribution network for the entire line of integrated networking and storage products. His mission includes capitalizing on Omneon's strength within the broadcast market, while helping the company emerge as a leader of storage products for applications extending into broadband segments. With over 16 years of executive-level experience in the hardware and software storage markets, he has built aggressive and successful international sales organizations. His experience capitalizes on building and managing multi-million dollar sales teams with products and services offered to traditional open systems and client/server markets.
Dan's background includes executive-level positions where he established a worldwide base of OEMs, system integrators, distribution partners and a high-performance application engineering staff while increasing new accounts and consistently exceeding sales quotas. The companies included MTI Corporation, Network Power and Light (a division of Mylex Corporation), as well as Mylex Corporation, Kalok Corporation and Storage Dimensions. He has a BS in Business Administration and Economics from San Jose State University, San Jose, California. |
Geoff Stedman
Geoff Stedman currently serves as Senior Vice President of Products and Markets for Omneon. In this position, Stedman has responsibility for all of the company’s engineering and marketing functions and provides overall leadership for the company’s product roadmap, product development and corporate positioning. Stedman joined Omneon in April 2003 as Vice President of Marketing and was instrumental in helping establish the company as the leading supplier of video server systems to the broadcast industry. In his role as head of marketing, Stedman was responsible for all aspects of marketing, including product marketing and planning, marketing communications, partner marketing, and strategic market analysis. Stedman came to Omneon from SonicWALL, a leading Internet security company, where he was Senior Director of Marketing managing all outbound activities. Before SonicWALL, he served as Vice President of Marketing at Aladdin Knowledge Systems, where he helped launch the company into the U.S. distribution channel and assisted with the integration of the company’s acquisition of Preview Systems, where he had previously been Director of Strategic Marketing. Prior to Preview Systems, Stedman served as Director of Marketing for the workstation division of Silicon Graphics, where he directed the launch of the company’s first Windows NT® workstations.
Stedman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Houghton College, and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. |
Matt Adams
Matt Adams is the Vice President of Broadcast Solutions for Omneon, Inc., and with his team, provides systems development expertise to Omneon customers and internal product development and sales efforts.
This group also researches and recommends future architectures and provides business development support. Mr. Adams' also manages the company's Beijing Olympics project.
Mr. Adams joined Omneon in 2007 after a decade with NBC where he earned six Emmy awards as director of technology for the broadcaster's Olympics coverage. He is the architect of the video/data network relied on during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta as well as the modular international broadcast center that was key to successful broadcast of the games in Sydney (2000), Salt Lake City (2002), Athens (2004), and Torino (2006).
Prior to NBC, as an independent consultant Mr. Adams pioneered a number of video applications that have since become commonplace, such as private satellite television networks for medical care and professional development (U.S. Veteran's Administration) and business (HP, Kodak), large screen projection systems for touring music concerts (Rolling Stones, Journey, The Who), and very large multi-channel television playout facility (Hughes Direct TV). Mr. Adams also designed one of the world's first serial digital video facilities (The Christian Science Monitor). He is the recipient of many awards for technological innovation. |
John Turk
John Turk joined Omneon as Vice President of Operations in October 2004. John brings high-tech manufacturing experience across multiple specialties to the company. Prior to Omneon, John was a Director at Cisco Systems, Inc., where he worked for over seven years and supported dramatic growth. At Cisco, John held positions in planning, production, purchasing, process development, EMS supplier management and information technology implementation.
Prior to Cisco, he worked in Detroit with Deloitte & Touche Management Consulting. John holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA summa cum laude in Economics from Wabash College. |
Vince O'Malley
Vince O’Malley was appointed Vice President, Video Systems Engineering in May, 2005. He brings to Omneon
20 years of experience in streaming media and computer systems development.
Prior to joining Omneon, Vince spent over 10 years at nCUBE Corporation. There he held a number of product design and engineering management positions including Vice President of Engineering, leading the development of nCUBE’s widely deployed video on demand and ad insertion systems. Prior to nCUBE, Vince held engineering positions at Sequent Computer Systems, maker of data base computers, and Delco Systems (a division of General Motors), maker of avionic computer systems. Vince holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the California State University, Chico. |
Chuck Morris
Chuck Morris joined Omneon, Inc. in August 2005 as Vice President, Storage and Applications Engineering. Chuck brings to Omneon over 18 years of experience in system and application SW development.
Prior to Omneon, Chuck was Vice President of Engineering at Venturi Wireless where he was responsible for all aspects of system and software development (server/client) for compression and transport optimization products. Prior to Venturi, Chuck was Vice President of Engineering at MobileSmarts responsible for HW and SW development of software defined radio (SDR) solutions for the automotive industry. Before that, he was Vice President of Engineering at Minerva Networks, where he led the effort to develop IPTV SW and HW products. Chuck has also held senior management and engineering positions at Philips, Western Digital Imaging and Olivetti System and Networks.
Chuck holds an MSCS from the University of Lowell, a BA in Business & Economics from Saint Anselm College, and holds 3 US patents. |
Ron Howe
Ron Howe has over 20 years of experience in building world-class global service organizations responsible for systems integration, 24x7 customer care, program management, professional services and sales engineering in high-growth technology companies -- from start-up to Fortune 500. He has a solid history of recruiting and leading highly productive teams and setting an aggressive tone for growth, product and service delivery, and focus on building and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Prior to joining Omneon, he was Vice President of Global Services at BlueArc Corporation, responsible for building and managing all aspects of the global services infrastructure and developing the firm’s outstanding customer service reputation within the enterprise class Network Attached Storage (NAS) industry. Prior to BlueArc, he was Vice President of Professional Services at Minerva Networks, Inc., and was instrumental in creating that company’s delivery model for its interactive television system solutions over broadband IP networks. Prior to Minerva, he was the Director of Worldwide Systems Engineering & Integration Services (DiviSys) at DiviCom, Inc. (acquired by Harmonic, Inc.), contributing heavily to that company’s successful penetration of the global digital broadcast market. Prior to DiviCom, he held Director-level positions at TRW, Inc. (acquired by Northrop Grumman), responsible for business areas delivering large-scale communications and information technology systems to global customers.
