Suresh Vasudevan
Suresh Vasudevan is president and CEO of Omneon Inc. Vasudevan joined Omneon in January 2009 from NetApp, where he held senior executive positions during a tenure spanning nearly a decade. He most recently served as senior vice president of product operations and also as a member of the company’s executive team, overseeing all product management and engineering for the NetApp product portfolio.
Vasudevan started his NetApp career in corporate development, moved on to lead product management, and eventually headed up all product management and technical marketing for the company. In 2005, NetApp acquired Decru, with Vasudevan leading the business unit – including sales, marketing, product development, and support –leading the networked storage and manageability group, a $2 billion product division. Before joining NetApp, Vasudevan worked at the management consulting firm McKinsey & Co. in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Chicago as a senior engagement manager, focusing on product marketing, operations, and marketing strategy.
Vausdevan holds an M.B.A. from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Calcutta, India and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) in Pilani, India.

Lawrence R. Kaplan
Lawrence R. Kaplan is Vice Chairman of the Board and co-founder of the company. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer from our inception in May 1998 to June 2003. Since June 2003 Kaplan was Executive Chairman and then Vice Chairman of the Board. He also reassumed the position of President and Chief Executive Officer on an interim basis for the period May 2008 through January 2009.
Prior to co-founding Omneon, Kaplan served as Senior Vice President - Sony Broadcast at Sony Electronics Inc., from 1995 to 1998. From 1989 to 1992 he was Vice President and General Manager of the Computer Graphics and Television Groups at Tektronix, Inc. At that time, these operations included the Tektronix color printer division and the Grass Valley Group subsidiary.
Kaplan holds an M.B.A. from Rutgers University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and is a fellow of the Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers.

Donald Craig
Donald Craig is a co-founder and CTO of Omneon, Inc., where he oversees the product architecture. Craig is a television industry veteran, who has held technical positions at Sony, Tektronix, Central Dynamics, Ampex, and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. At Tektronix, as Engineering Fellow, his engineering teams received an Emmy® award in 1988 for the VM-700 video measurement set, and in 1996 for the Profile video server. He was awarded the David Sarnoff Medal by the SMPTE in 2007 for his contributions to the development of video servers and video networking architectures.

Laura Perrone
Laura Perrone serves as Vice President Finance and CFO and has been with Omneon since September 2003. Prior to Omneon, Perrone held CFO appointments at Icarian, a leading workforce management software and service provider (acquired by Workstream, Inc.) and Rendition, a developer of high-performance graphical processors (acquired by Micron Technology, Inc.). Prior to Rendition, Perrone was Vice President, Controller of Andor International, Ltd., a developer of IBM compatible peripheral products, Corporate Controller of ELXSI, the merger of publicly held Trilogy, Ltd and ELXSI, a scientific computer systems company and held managerial positions with Pitney Bowes/Dictaphone Corporation.
Perrone holds a B. S. in Economics from the University of San Francisco. |
Geoff Stedman
Geoff Stedman is Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development and joined Omneon in April 2003. Stedman has responsibility for the entire corporate marketing and business development functions and provides overall leadership for the company’s new business initiatives, corporate positioning and corporate communications.
Prior to joining Omneon, Stedman was Senior Director of Marketing managing all outbound activities at SonicWALL, a leading Internet security company. Before SonicWALL, he served as Vice President of Marketing at Aladdin Knowledge Systems. There, he helped launch the company into the U.S. distribution channel and assisted with the integration of the company’s acquisition of Preview Systems, where he had previously been Director of Strategic Marketing. Prior to Preview Systems, Stedman served as Director of Marketing for the workstation division of Silicon Graphics, where he directed the launch of the company’s first Windows NT® workstations.
Stedman holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Business Administration from Houghton College. |
Denis R. Maynard
Denis Maynard joined Omneon Inc. in April 2009 as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Prior to Omneon, Denis was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing at QLogic, a leading supplier of high performance storage networking solutions. During his seven years at the company, Denis led a team that was responsible for all customer facing activities including worldwide OEM sales, channel sales, systems engineering, field marketing, corporate marketing, alliances, as well as technical service and support. Prior to QLogic, Denis spent nearly nine years in senior management positions at Cisco Systems, most recently as Director of worldwide field operations. From 1990 to 1993, Denis served as Western Regional Sales Manager for Banyan Systems, a pioneer and leader in providing open, standards-based network operating systems for enterprise networks.
Denis Maynard is a Graduate of Pepperdine University in Malibu where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration.

Bob Wood
Bob Wood is Senior Vice President of Engineering at Omneon. Before joining the company in 2009, Wood served as Vice President of File System Engineering at NetApp, where he led a development team spanning five development centers worldwide and was responsible for NetApps WAFL filesystem and their next generation clustered filesystem. Wood earlier served as a Vice President for all software engineering on the original executive team of Decru. While at Decru, he was responsible for all product development and tripled the company’s global engineering organization. Bob then led the integration of the Decru engineering organization into NetApp, after its acquistion. Wood also was a member of the founding team and Vice President of Engineering for a venture-funded software company. Wood began his career managing development for the Fiery product line at Electronics For Imaging (EFI).
Wood holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from University of Colorado, Boulder. He also holds three U.S. patents, has three patents pending, and has five published papers. |
Matt Adams
Matt Adams is Vice President of Broadcast Solutions for Omneon, Inc., and with his team, provides systems development expertise to Omneon customers and internal product development and sales efforts.
Adams joined Omneon in 2007 after a decade with NBC where he earned six Emmy awards as director of technology for the broadcaster's Olympics coverage. He is the architect of the video/data network relied on during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta as well as the modular international broadcast center that was key to successful broadcast of the games in Sydney (2000), Salt Lake City (2002), Athens (2004), and Torino (2006).Prior to NBC, as an independent consultant Adams pioneered a number of video applications that have since become commonplace, such as private satellite television networks for medical care and professional development (U.S. Veteran's Administration) and business (HP, Kodak), large screen projection systems for touring music concerts (Rolling Stones, Journey, The Who), and very large multi-channel television playout facility (Hughes Direct TV). Adams also designed one of the world's first serial digital video facilities (The Christian Science Monitor). He is the recipient of many awards for technological innovation. |
Ron Howe
Ron Howe is Vice President of Worldwide Service for Omneon since 2005. Prior to joining Omneon, he was Vice President of Global Services at BlueArc Corporation, responsible for building and managing all aspects of the global services infrastructure and developing the firm’s outstanding customer service reputation within the enterprise class Network Attached Storage (NAS) industry. Prior to BlueArc, he was Vice President of Professional Services at Minerva Networks, Inc., and was instrumental in creating that company’s delivery model for its interactive television system solutions over broadband IP networks. Prior to Minerva, he was the Director of Worldwide Systems Engineering & Integration Services (DiviSys) at DiviCom, Inc. (acquired by Harmonic, Inc.), contributing heavily to that company’s successful penetration of the global digital broadcast market. Prior to DiviCom, he held Director-level positions at TRW, Inc. (acquired by Northrop Grumman), responsible for business areas delivering large-scale communications and information technology systems to global customers.

John Turk
John Turk joined Omneon as Vice President of Operations in October 2004. Turk brings high-tech manufacturing experience across multiple specialties to the company. Prior to Omneon, Turk was a Director at Cisco Systems, Inc., where he worked for over seven years and supported dramatic growth. At Cisco, Turk held positions in planning, production, purchasing, process development, EMS supplier management and information technology implementation. Prior to Cisco, he worked in Detroit with Deloitte & Touche Management Consulting.
Turk holds an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.A. summa cum laude in Economics from Wabash College. |
