 For direct access to the MediaGrid file system, client software is available for a number of operating systems including Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Solaris. For customers running other operating systems, the ContentBridge provides an open interface to allow access to the MediaGrid file system.
Non-native clients can access the MediaGrid file system through a ContentBridge using standard network file system protocols. In response to a client file access request, the ContentBridge interacts with ContentDirectors to complete the necessary operations before forwarding the result back to the client. For example, in the case of a read operation, the ContentBridge will compile file data together before presenting the complete file to the client.
