SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Sept. 7, 2006 — Omneon Video Networks today announced that the Omneon Spectrum media server system has been selected by Sony as the playout server for Sony’s Sonaps integrated newsroom solution. The Spectrum server will provide reliable, scalable playout of finished material as part of the complete news workflow managed by Sonaps. The Sonaps system, along with the Spectrum media server, will be demonstrated in the Sony booth at IBC2006 (#9.410).
