SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Sept. 28, 2006 — Omneon Video Networks won four of the industry’s most notable product awards at this year’s IBC exhibition, earning the IABM’s prestigious Peter Wayne Award, a Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award, a TVB Europe Best of IBC2006 Editors’ Award for the new Omneon MediaGrid™ active-storage system, and a Cable & Satellite International (C&SI) magazine award for the Omneon Spectrum™ HD MultiPort 4100.

The Peter Wayne Award, now in its sixteenth year, is one of the premier awards recognizing leadership in technical design and innovation. Eagerly sought after, this year’s award attracted around 40 entries from around the world. The winner was selected by a 10-judge panel representing a wide spectrum of internationally recognized industry leaders, including panel chair David Bradshaw from The Digital Television Group (DTG).

The Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award, the industry’s longest-running new product technology award, also was presented to the MediaGrid system. The Pick Hit Award, selected by Broadcast Engineering readers and industry professionals working in the field, acknowledges the exhibition’s most innovative and exciting products. The Best of IBC Award was bestowed on the Omneon MediaGrid system by the combined editorial teams of TVB Europe, TVB USA, and the IBC Daily, which selected the new active-storage system as one of the most innovative new product introductions at IBC2006.

The Omneon Spectrum HD MultiPort 4100 was honored with an International Product of the Year Award from C&SI magazine. The awards, among the most comprehensive and competitive technology awards anywhere in the world, reward technical and product marketing excellence in the cable, satellite, terrestrial broadcasting, IPTV, and mobile TV sectors.
