SUNNYVALE, Calif. — March 27, 2007 — Omneon Video Networks today announced that, for the second consecutive year, it was chosen to receive a Digital Studio Industry Leadership Award for its Omneon Spectrum™ media server. The award for “Best Server” was announced at CABSAT 2007, the Middle East’s largest cable and satellite exhibition. The Industry Leadership Awards recognize companies that have shown their commitment to the growing industry in the Middle East region.

Leading broadcasters in the Middle East that have chosen Omneon’s Spectrum system include MTV Turkey, STV Turkey, Du, Funoon, Orbit, Showtime, CNBC Arabia, Mazzika, Zoom TV, and the BBC World Service’s Arabic TV channel, which goes on the air in the fall.

Among Omneon’s most recent regional installations is i2TV’s new state-of-the-art facility in Dubai Media City. This is the first tapeless television station in the region to be driven by a media asset management (MAM) platform. The facility was installed by SOFTEDIT in late 2006 and already moves hundreds of hours of content every day, multicasting on NileSat and IPTV networks.
