Omneon Video Networks, a leading provider of media server and active storage systems for the broadcast industry, today announced the appointment of Shin Yung Chul as country manager for the company’s business in South Korea. Shin brings extensive experience and expertise in sales, strategic planning, channel sales, account management, and new business development in the Korean market to this new position.
“Shin’s experience in the Korean market and his understanding of so many aspects of technology make him ideal for this position,” said Andrew Thornton, Omneon vice president of sales for Asia/Pacific. “We are confident that his skills and knowledge will make a vital contribution to our presence in the dynamic Korean market.”
Shin joins Omneon with more than two decades of experience in the technology industry. Most recently, he was a senior sales manager in charge of broadcasting at Avid Technology, Inc., where he was responsible for sales of nonlinear editor, server, graphics, and workgroup products in the Asian market. Prior to that, Shin was the general manager for Korea at Pinnacle Systems for two years. Earlier in his career, Shin worked for Digital Camp Co., Ltd., and for Computopia Systems.
Shin will be based in Seoul, Korea, and will report to Thornton.
