Omneon today announced that True Visions, Thailand’s top cable satellite television operator, has selected an Omneon MediaGrid™ content library to provide central line storage for its facility in Thailand. True Visions, previously known as UBC, has more than one million subscribers in Thailand for its own original programming and for syndicated programming on more than 90 channels. The MediaGrid installed at the True Visions facility provides 192 TB of raw storage space for their operation and also provides the bandwidth to allow more than 100 clients simultaneous and unrestricted access to the content via a Gigabit Ethernet network.

Second, because the MediaGrid is scalable, it will grow with our operation. And third, it is built on open file protocols and APIs so that it integrates easily with our existing storage and archive systems.”

Omneon’s innovative MediaGrid is an advanced, object-based storage system that uses multiple intelligent, interconnected content servers to incrementally control and expand not only capacity but bandwidth and media processing power as needed. At True Visions, the MediaGrid system will integrate with multiple Leitch production servers and a Dayang archive management system to simplify workflow by providing central disk-based file storage.
