Omneon Video Networks, the company providing the Networked Content Server for new media applications, has promoted Alan Hoggarth to vice president of operations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He was previously director of operations for the EMEA region.
Hoggarth has been with the company for over two years, building Omneon's sales and support infrastructure in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. During this time, he has laid the foundation of the company's distribution and support infrastructure with leading distributors, system integrators and value added resellers throughout the region. Key to Omneon's early success has been the close working partnership with the many application partners who, with Omneon, deliver production and transmission functionality from the open Networked Content Server platform.
"Alan has built a topnotch team that has brought in an impressive international portfolio of customers, including the BBC, BskyB and Todd A-O." said Lawrence Kaplan, president and CEO. "Alan's years of experience in broadcast and production markets, and his tenure with colleagues and customers worldwide has set a successful track record managing complex systems sales and support operations in Europe."
Before coming to Omneon, Hoggarth was general manager of post-production for Sony Broadcast and Professional, Europe. Prior to joining Sony in 1997, he was sales and marketing manager for Abekas Video Systems in Europe. In 1986, Hoggarth was appointed Grass Valley Group's first United Kingdom sales manager.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Omneon Video Networks provides infrastructure for new media. Omneon's Networked Content Server is a highly scalable, data-type independent, shared-storage infrastructure. The solution is a platform that supports third-party software applications for control and transmission, media management, archive, and collaborative production. Omneon systems are used by content producers and distributors for simultaneous program creation and re-purposing for any type of distribution method. Omneon's products consist of server, disk controller, scalable Fiber Channel storage components, and software that together form a content server system. Channel or user scalability is achieved by using both IEEE 1394 and Ethernet networking technologies. This open systems architecture, known as a VIDEO AREA NETWORK, enables facilities to ingest, route, store, share and distribute digital media-comprised of audio, video, and any type of related data. Omneon Video Networks, headquartered in Sunnyvale, Calif., is privately held and funded by prominent venture capital firms. Omneon's web site is www.Omneon.com.
