Tele-Cine is enhancing its current Networked Content Server to support the new gaming channel "Go Barking Mad." "The installation now includes Omneon's Extended File System which gives us the scalability we need to grow the system into new application areas such as transmission. Being able to mix and match formats on the same server means we can use it for both uncompressed dubbing work and DV-based transmission."Supplied by Boxer Systems Ltd., Omneon's UK Distributor, the sale includes DV/MPEG MediaPorts for encoding multiple formats of video and audio, additional storage for the Extended File System to allow the level of scalability needed, and IEEE 1394 Switches for networking the system. An incremental expansion has allowed them to implement a new service cost effectively and to a very tight timescale," said Alan Hoggarth, Omneon's vice president of operations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
