Omneon Video Networks announces a key appointment to its management team by naming Geoff Stedman as Vice President of Marketing. Stedman will have responsibility for all marketing functions, including product and marketing strategy, product management and demand generation. With this appointment, Omneon adds new capabilities that will be instrumental in strengthening brand awareness and increasing outbound marketing communications worldwide.

With over 12 years of technology marketing experience, Stedman brings a proven track record to Omneon's management team, including expertise in product marketing and planning, marketing communications, partner marketing, and strategic market analysis. He has managed marketing and demand creation for diverse product lines – from Internet-based platforms to professional media and graphics computer solutions.

Stedman comes to Omneon from SonicWALL, a leading Internet security company, where he was Senior Director of Marketing managing all outbound activities. Before joining SonicWALL, he served as Vice President of Marketing at Aladdin Knowledge Systems, where he helped launch the company into the U.S. distribution channel and led the integration of the company's acquisition of Preview Systems, where he had previously been Director of Strategic Marketing.

Prior to Preview Systems, Stedman served as Director of Marketing for the workstation division of Silicon Graphics, where he directed the launch of the company's first Windows NT® workstations. During his years at SGI, Stedman was also responsible for marketing initiatives for the entertainment industry, desktop product marketing and strategic partnerships.
