WBOC-TV, a CBS affiliate in Maryland, has selected Omneon Video Networks as the server and automation infrastructure for their UPN Channel. Installed by the Whitlock Group and controlled by Sundance Digital® automation software, the Omneon Media Server System includes 22 MEDIAPORTs and over 700 hours of storage.

The main goal for WBOC was to get a new UPN station on the air. WBOC will also use the Omneon Media Server System as the news playout server, utilizing the Sundance News Link™ newsroom automation. The efficiency that the automation lends to WBOC’s day-to-day operations helped them improve and expand their services to their local viewers. Additionally, the Sundance/Omneon combination provides a seamless automation capability that enables WBOC to run both their main channel (CBS) and the new UPN channel off the Omneon Media Server System.
