Omneon Video Networks today announced the appointment of Midwest Regional Sales Manager James L. Skupien and Northeast Regional Sales Manager Keith L. Andoos. The two new positions have been established to address growing market interest in Omneon SPECTRUM media servers, cost-effective and flexible networked systems designed specifically to meet broadcast work flow requirements for facilities of all sizes.

“Jim and Keith together bring 50 years of broadcast industry experience to our sales efforts, and each has an extensive history with industry partners, dealers, and clients in their region,” said Omneon’s Worldwide Sales Vice President Dan Marshall. “The depth of experience that they offer will allow us to give our customers knowledgeable and responsive sales support as demand continues to grow for our Omneon SPECTRUM systems.”

Skupien joins Omneon with extensive experience working with leading broadcast solution providers. His most recent position was with Swiderski Electronics, where he was responsible for video equipment and engineering sales to broadcasters and strategic corporate/post production accounts. Prior to that he served as director of broadcast sales, Midwest region, for SeaChange International, where he was responsible for sales and support of the company’s high-end digital broadcast video file servers. Earlier, as Midwest regional sales manager for EMC’s media solutions group, Skupien worked with industry partners including Oracle and Virage to build custom solutions — ranging from IP streaming to digital cinema — for EMC clients. Prior to EMC, Skupien was Midwest regional sales manager for TANDBERG Television, where he helped to build a new sales region for digital MPEG transmission equipment, conditional access solutions, and data broadcasting-enabling technology. Other positions included sales management roles at Pluto Technologies, Quantel, Hitachi Denshi America, and BTS.

Previously a regional sales manager for Leitch in the New York Metro and New England markets, Andoos spent the past five years managing accounts including Time Warner, Hearst-Argyle Television, and major systems integrators located in the Northeast region. Before joining Leitch, Andoos was a sales representative and manager of digital news-gathering products at Ikegami Electronics, where he created relationships with broadcast facilities, corporate and industrial producers, cable facilities, and educational institutions in New York City. Andoos’ career in broadcast sales is built on 24 years as an engineer and manager of project implementation for companies including Video Corporation of America, NYC; Reeves A/V Systems of New York; New Jersey-based AF Associates; Sony Corporation of America; and Merrill Lynch Video & Satellite Network.
