New Appointment Strengthens Third-Party Collaboration for Development of
Expanded, Server-Based Broadcast Solutions
SUNNYVALE,
CALIFORNIA - January 26, 2004

Omneon Video Networks today announced the appointment of Jason Danielson, a 25-year veteran of the broadcast and production industry, to the role of senior director of solutions marketing. As Omneon SPECTRUM Media Server Systems continue to gain worldwide acceptance with major broadcasters, Omneon is expanding its third-party partner efforts to drive the development of a broader range of Omneon-based solutions. Danielson will manage an expanded developer program for Omneon, overseeing the company’s growth strategy for its solution portfolio.
“Jason will be a great asset to us as we expand our Omneon Partner Network Developer Program to provide a broader range of solutions for advanced broadcast infrastructures,” said Geoff Stedman, vice president of marketing at Omneon Video Networks. “He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that will be instrumental in helping us continue to expand our business.”
Danielson comes to Omneon from SGI, where he most recently served as director of telco, Internet, media, and entertainment markets. He joined SGI in 1993 and while there formed key strategic alliances with companies in content creation, management, and delivery; managed more than 100 media and entertainment partners; and developed relationships with companies including Panasonic, Kodak, Philips, Discreet, Avid Technologies, Tektronix, Oracle, Sun Microsystems, and Real Networks.
Danielson began his professional broadcast career in 1978 with Evening Magazine (aka P.M. Magazine), the first nationally syndicated television magazine show in the United States, working on first-generation, tape-based, linear video editing equipment. Following 10 years in video post production, Danielson moved into manufacturing, co-founding Digital F/X, where in 1990 his product team won an Emmy® award for Engineering Achievement in the Advancement and Implementation of Technology for Video Workstations.
“Omneon has the right combination of broadcast and IT engineering talent, an elegant architecture in the Omneon SPECTRUM, and the expertise to lead broadcasters in their transition to digital workflows,” said Danielson. “I look forward to adding my partner development experience to the mix during this very exciting time in the company’s growth.”
