Omneon Video Networks today announced the first of a series of new HD enhancements to its Omneon Spectrum™ media server system. The current HD capabilities of the Omneon Spectrum™ media server have been extended to add support for DVCPRO HD, Panasonic's compressed HD format. With this enhancement, the Omneon Spectrum™ becomes the first media server capable of supporting all leading HD broadcast formats simultaneously, including HD MPEG and HDCAM in addition to DVCPRO HD. This latest enhancement is another step in the company's commitment to support "HD in any format."
