Omneon Video Networks today announced that Tony Short has been appointed to the new position of mid-Atlantic sales manager, continuing the company’s expansion to meet increased acceptance of its products by major network broadcasters, station groups, and local stations. Short’s region will include Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington D.C., and West Virginia. Short also will focus on U.S. government customers, enabling Omneon to satisfy growing demand from government video installations.
“Omneon started the year with a strong surge in orders and installations,” said Dan Marshall, vice president of worldwide sales for Omneon. “To support this kind of rapid growth while still giving our customers the personal service they expect from us, we’re bringing on board some of the most experienced and respected professionals in our industry, and we are very pleased to have Tony join the team.”
Short joins Omneon after 17 years with Sony Electronics, where he held a variety of sales and marketing positions focused on broadcast and professional equipment. His accomplishments have included setting up and managing dealers and resellers for broadcast video and audio products, major sales to all of the top broadcast networks in the mid-Atlantic region, and the development of marketing programs to support sales of Sony’s line of broadcast camera products.
