Continuing to strengthen the company's presence in international markets, Omneon Video Networks today announced the opening of Omneon Video Networks France, based in Paris, along with the appointment of Regional Manager François Cavalade to oversee sales, marketing, support, and partnership development in French-speaking Europe and Africa. Cavalade joins Omneon with extensive knowledge of the broadcast and video industry built on 10 years' experience developing relationships with networks and television groups in France and across Europe.

Cavalade began his career in broadcast as a regional manager for Getris Images, a French company supplying videographic systems worldwide. While at Getris, he was responsible for reorganizing of the company's distributor network, improving distributors' familiarity of the product, managing customer support, and bringing new innovations to trade shows and conferences. Later, as regional sales manager for Quantel in Southeast Asia, Cavalade realigned the company's distributor network and helped it to significantly improve sales in the region.

More recently, as France-based manager of the Asia Pacific region for Proconsultant Informatique, Cavalade enhanced the company's business development and market penetration by establishing multimillion-dollar contracts with major networks, aiding in project management for implementation of the company's broadcast software solutions, and authoring English- and French-language training and support material. Prior to joining Omneon, he was regional sales manager for SintecMedia in Europe's French- and German-speaking countries, building relationships with key television groups.
