Omneon Supports Growth in EMEA Regions With Appointment of Greg Hoskin as VP of EMEA Sales

Industry veteran brings 27 years’ experience to rapidly expanding EMEA market while additional appointments extend technical and operational support services

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Dec. 6, 2004

In an important milestone marking Omneon Video Networks’ rapid growth within the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) regions, the company has announced the appointment of industry veteran Greg Hoskin as vice president of EMEA sales. To meet the increasing demand for Omneon server solutions within this market, Omneon has also expanded its technical and operational support services with new positions filled by Graham Aedy and Gary Pass.

“Omneon is experiencing a significant increase in business opportunities within the EMEA region, and Greg’s extensive background in sales and marketing for broadcast system solutions brings another level of capability to Omneon,” said Dan Marshall, vice president of worldwide sales for Omneon. “Greg’s experience with large account management and managing sales of broadcast technologies will further position us to capitalize on the increasing demand for Omneon’s leading server technology.”

“The addition of Greg to our team along with the expansion of our support capabilities will ensure our continued delivery of high-quality products and services,” said Alan Hoggarth, Omneon’s vice president of operations for Europe, Middle East, and Africa. “These appointments not only reflect a growing record of successful installations, but also represent our commitment to building and maintaining long-term relationships with our customers. We’re very pleased to welcome Greg, Gary, and Graham on board.”

Hoskin has 27 years’ experience in management, sales, and engineering for the broadcast and media manufacturing industries. He most recently served as senior vice president of sales and product strategy for OmniBus Systems, where he was responsible for key accounts and strategic sales worldwide, working with broadcast groups including BBC, Walt Disney Corporation, and BSkyB. In 1994, while working as sales manager for AVS Graphics, Hoskin helped to launch the OmniBus Systems product line. Hoskin began his career with sales and engineering roles at Philips’ systems division, PYE TVT, and Sony Broadcast.

The appointment of Pass and Aedy to Omneon’s Technical Resource Engineering Group will provide added technical support expertise to meet the company’s goal of complete customer satisfaction in the EMEA region. Pass was most recently sales manager for Aston Broadcast Systems and is widely recognized in the industry, having served in senior technical management and support roles for MetaWave Video Systems, Accom, Grass Valley Group, and Quantel. Aedy’s industry experience includes senior engineering and support positions at Edifis, Philips Digital Video Systems, Grass Valley Group, and Abekas Video Systems. Also joining Omneon from Aston Broadcast Systems is Louise Jordan, who will be responsible for commercial and support administration interfacing to Omneon customers, system integrators, and technology partners.

Alan Hoggarth will continue to serve Omneon in the role of vice president of operations for the EMEA region. His responsibilities include managing the operations and infrastructure for Omneon’s existing UK-based EMEA headquarters and rolling out Omneon’s regional centers for sales and support. Hoggarth will also continue his active involvement in managing relationships with system integrators and application development partners in the EMEA region.

As previously announced by Omneon, formerly UK-based Terry Spittle has taken on the role of manager of technical operations for the company’s newly established Asia Pacific operation. Spittle will be based in Singapore where he will support Omneon customers in south Asia.
