Omneon Video Networks today announced the appointment of Christopher Hoare as a regional sales manager within the Asia Pacific region with specific responsibility for the China and Korea markets as adoption of the Omneon Spectrum™ media server system continues to grow in this region.

“Chris joins Omneon with a solid background in presenting advanced broadcast technologies to clients in Asia Pacific markets, and we feel that his experience and knowledge in this area will be key in our continued penetration of the region ,” said Eric Masters, vice president of Asia Pacific at Omneon Video Networks.

Hoare’s previous work within the broadcast industry includes a position of operations manager for signal-processing and conversion equipment manufacturer Tekniche, now part of Leitch, where he oversaw the company’s network of distributors around the Asia Pacific region from a Hong Kong base. While still in Hong Kong, he moved to Digital Processing Systems, where he took on responsibility for the Hong Kong and China markets.

Hoare is currently based in Hong Kong.
