Omneon Expands Latin America Team
With Two Key Sales and Support Hires

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Sept. 21, 2005

Omneon Video Networks today announced that it has expanded the company’s Latin America presence with the appointment of Thomas McCarthy as regional sales manager and Francisco Lima as pre-sales applications engineer. The two new positions provide a dedicated source of local sales, support, and service for new and existing Omneon customers in Latin America.

“The addition of Tom and Frank to the Omneon sales and support team will allow us to bring advanced server technologies to an even greater number of customers in the growing Latin America market,” said Dan Marshall, senior vice president of worldwide sales at Omneon Video Networks. “Tom’s proven ability to build relationships with companies across the Americas, along with extensive experience in technical sales and marketing, will be an enormous asset to our Latin America operations. And with more than 20 years of experience in broadcast engineering and sales in the United States and Latin America, Frank also will provide an essential point of contact for clients seeking flexible server solutions.”

McCarthy joins Omneon having most recently served as regional sales manager of the Americas for XPonCard, a multinational manufacturer of SIM card technology. While there he led market research that helped to strengthen sales strategies for more effective market penetration. Prior to XPonCard, McCarthy spent eight years with TANDBERG Television as regional sales manager for Latin America. Before TANDBERG Television, McCarthy held regional sales positions in the semiconductor industry and has focused on Latin America for the last 15 years.

Lima’s broadcast career also includes time with XPonCard and TANDBERG Television, where he held the roles of sales engineer and applications engineer. In these roles he served as a direct contact for the resolution of technical issues, development of new solutions, and support throughout the sales, integration, and implementation processes. Prior to TANDBERG Television, Lima was a broadcast engineer for Tribune Broadcasting station WBZL-TV in Hollywood, Fla. His experience at WBZL-TV and earlier at the Utah Education Network included responsibility for a complete range of broadcast equipment and networks for both television broadcast and distance-learning systems. He began his work in engineering at Brazil’s EMBRAER, an aircraft manufacturer located in his home state of Sao Paulo.

Both McCarthy and Lima will be based in Miami, Fla.
