Content Repurposing

With the increasing adoption of file-based workflows, the automatic verification and format conversion of content becomes more and more essential. Traditionally, baseband transfer has been used to move content between device types. This method offered the opportunity to review media in real time and supported any device, but it tied up both a playback device and a record device, and required the dedicated time of an operator or automation system.

Today's general purpose processors are capable of performing the complex calculations necessary to inspect, verify, and convert media files many times faster than play speed. The Omneon media storage and processing platform includes a multi-processor application environment and a multi-path communications network to supercharge these tasks in a way that is not available in any other environment.
