Powerful Ingest Features
ProDrive provides a range of ingest features for capturing content to Omneon media servers and preparing it for transmission.
The crash record feature allows operators to instantly specify an ingest port on which to record and capture content. Crash records can be configured to run automatically for a specified duration, creating a clip on the media server, and clips can either be manipulated or scheduled for playout on another port, all while being recorded.
Scheduled recording features in ProDrive can create an ingest schedule based on the availability of incoming feeds from outside sources. Comprehensive schedule management enables users to view, edit and create new schedule items at any time of day for any duration. At the specified time, the media server will automatically switch to record mode and capture the desired content.
Manual ingest capabilities allow content to be captured from tape while the source VTR is controlled via serial protocol. In addition, ingest lists can be generated based on the content of a tape, and ProDrive will automatically capture and digitize all marked sections from that tape. This feature captures content from multi-segment tapes, but also handles long-form content that spans multiple tapes. Ingest lists can also be created in external applications and imported into ProDrive.
Flexible Clip Preparation
ProDrive provides comprehensive clip preparation to ensure that content on the media server is ready for transmission whenever it is needed.
Any clip on the server can be loaded into the ProDrive application and controlled just as if it were a clip on a VTR, using any available port on the Omneon media server. Operators can jog and shuttle through the clip, find points of interest, mark new in and out points, and automatically create new sub-clips based on this data.
New material can also be created by merging content from multiple source clips, providing a comprehensive quick-turn solution for clip preparation needs.
Extensive Playout Options
ProDrive provides comprehensive content playout features via an intuitive graphical user interface. Individual clips (or even sections of clips) can be loaded onto a timeline and either played out immediately or scheduled for playout at a specific time.
Operators can also create playout lists of multiple clips from an Omneon media server. ProDrive supports complex transmission rules such as individual clip looping or entire list loops, dynamically handling changes to the list's contents even when actively playing out. New clips arriving on the server can immediately be inserted into an active list at any desired point or used to replace placeholders within an active playlist. ProDrive can also import playlists from other applications, facilitating integration into existing workflows.
Full logging of transmission output is provided, making it easy to compare schedules and as-run content – ensuring that what went to air matches what was intended.
Manage Clips Easily
Managing content stored in Omneon media servers is simple with ProDrive. With a full Explorer view of the server's contents, users can rename, move, copy and delete clips, all from the desktop. Even with complex reference or self-contained clips, a consolidated view makes content manageable and accessible. Folder structures within the media server can also be created and organized with ProDrive.
