Omneon ProXchange

Course Goals:
This course has two parts; the first part provides a good working knowledge on the hardware architecture, how to cable the system, configure the network settings, and software installation. People attending this portion of the course should have a good working knowledge of their MediaGrid system, an understanding of TCP/IP and Ethernet, DNS and DHCP protocols, and knowledge on how to configure their DNS server to add additional IP addresses. The second part of the course provides instructions on how to transcode clips.
Intended Audience:
Anyone responsible for maintaining the hardware and network configuration for the first part of the course and anyone who needs the ability to transcode a wide range of DV and MPEG-2 formats including SD and HD for the second part of the course.
Course Summary:
This course covers the ProXchange system overview, hardware and network configuration, ProXchange Manager installation and licensing, logging into the ProXchange Manager and navigating the graphical user interface, and various operations tasks such as setting up grid resources, creating and editing a transcode preset, assigning directories for transcoding and viewing transcode results.
